Hi everyone,

You guys may have noticed that Jerry has been preoccupied lately and not around much. He is going through a bad time in his life right now and I think we can all let him know we're here for him. Out of respect to him I'm not going to share what is he's dealing with, that will be up to him but I can say it's nothing life threatening and he'll get through it with our support. He will get on from time to time to update what he's selling and hopefully he'll see everyone's well wishes from this thread.

If you need help with anything feel free to contact me or any of the Mods for your needs. Rick should have internet access by this weekend for the guys who like dealing with him.

So Jerry, hang in the buddy, if there is anything you need just let us know. And remember you have your cyber buddies here for your "pick me ups"!

Hey Jerry;

I guess the only thing I can offer is my own experiences with difficult times. And that is - Life (or God, or whatebever your own view on higher powers is) doesn't give you more than you can handle. You don't know HOW you're going to get through it; but you do.

Back in boot camp, my Drill Instructor used to tell us that if we felt we had to fall out on a run, then that was okay with him - as long as our face impacted the ground. Because, if we had enough energy left to put up our arm to shield our face from hitting the deck; then we had enough energy left to have taken one more step. And, as silly as that sounds; it is exactly what I thought about through all of the difficult times in the nearly-forty years since then. I'd just keep thinking, "Just keep putting one foot in front of the other."

Never easy, and certainly NEVER something you want to do again - but you get through it. You do have people who care, and you can always contact us off line.

My higest respect, always. -Mike

Dear everyone-

Thanks SO MUCH for everyones kind words, and wishes. Yes- tough times here right now that are directly related to my role in the hobby from the aspect of time and money. Because I have taken on so much regarding these trucks, and because FedEx is demanding of my time being they are who I work for, there was just never any time left for whats most important in my life- my wife and kids. That said, I have decided to part with the stuff I do not need, since this hobby is basically for my son and I there is no need to keep all this extra stuff around. I know some of you guys have provided me with some of the items you have seen sold, and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for being lucky enough to have had so much in the hobby- but its time to part with some of it and use that money to mend some fences.

Since I am here, and this wonderful thread has been started in my honor I may as well lay out some future plans for MMT and my role in the hobby. First off, MMT isnt going anywhere... I am committed to each one of you guys and all of our members to keep the doors of communication open for us all- afterall many of us would openly admit to having many priceless friendships from this hobby, and I am not about to close the door on that so please noone fear that one day MMT may not be here, MMT will always be here. Now on to truck of the month- this contest is indefinately on hold right now, simply because it does take quite a lot of time to set up for each month, and crop and photoshop the photos for the board header. Because every spare minute counts in my life right now, TOTM will stay at bay until which time I feel I can invest the time into it again. TOPCAD- I have not yet decided on this issue yet, but I am leaning towards laying parts sales to rest as well. First of all, there is not a great deal of money to be made through sales of parts, second between the trips to the bank to wire the money, inventory on parts, handling orders, and shipping- there is a lot of time invested in running that operation. I may turn it over to my oldest son to handle- but I am not sure yet. That is the thing about parts, you dont get a lot of repeat sales for the simple fact that people dont go out and crash and tear up these trucks... your only hopes of a second sale come from someone buying another truck or trailer and so there is a lot of uncertainty in buying several hundreds of dollars worth of parts which could sit around for months- tying up money that could be used on much more important things. I will keep everyone updated and posted on this particular issue. As far as the stuff I am keeping, building, and playing... in due time I will slip back into things slowly. With winter upon us now, it will be easier to find some build time so that hopefully by spring I will have two trucks and trailers going. That said, I am keeping my two Knights that are currently in build, and the two extended flatbed trailers as well as a handful of parts and accessories- otherwise everything else go's. Also staying in my fleet is the Toyota Tundra that Brian (Dakota9576) built... because he did such and awesome job on it, and I always wanted one I can not bare to part with it. I will be posting a lot more stuff for sale in the coming days, right now I have just really been moderating my time on the computer and quite frankly I am burned out pretty hard on all of it due to the damage that has been done.

Anyway- enuff said for now. Thanks again- so much... for everyone's wishes... it means the world to me to have you guys out there, and seeing this thread did not surprise me actually because I know it is trucks that brought us all here, however it is the friendships that we have built that result in threads like this being posted. I have said it before, and I am going to say it again- some of the greatest people I know, whom I have never met- are right here and it is a lifelong dream of mine to share a handshake with you guys eventually. Thanks again for everything you have all done for me, words cannot describe how incredible it is to think that help can be had from people whom we have never met before. One day, I would like to give back in a big way to say thanks for all of this- perhaps I will find out a way to do that. Until normalcy is again alive and well, I will be on from time to time. If any of you need anything, feel free to send me an email or PM me... I am more prone to check those right now so I am not tempted to stay on here longer than I need to. jerry@mwmodeltrucking

My most sincere wishes, and thanks- to you all...

Jerry

Hey everyone-

It has been a very long last few months for me, I am going through a divorce and all the nasty things that go along with that. Even though I was going to keep this under my hat and try to get through it and move on... I understand there is nothing to be embarassed about and that many of you have probably been wondering where you fearless leader has been- I assure you- I have not been building!! Quite to the contrary actually, I have parted with some of my stuff in the last few months, and this divorce is what brought all that on. I do still have my three knights (2 currently in build), both my extended flatbeds, and my FedEx van trailer as well as a lot of my other toys including my Tundra. Soon I hope to be fully back to building, stocking TOPCAD items, and an active member here on MMT. Right now, my main focus is to keep the MMT bills paid so everyone can still enjoy it in my absence. I will post updates, and will be on more often from here on out. Since my son and I are building our trucks together, we are hoping to be back into that as early as next weekend.

Happy Birthday to all of you whose birthday posts I missed, and one big one was MMT's 2nd Birthday on February 14th... so a big happy birthday to all of you, and MMT. Thanks for everyones continued support, and membership to MMT- and most importantly- as friends of mine.

Jerry
