my first build

Postby Devil_Dog6154 on Wed May 05, 2010 8:41 pm

this is my first build and i know there are some things wrong but you learn from your misstacks. so here are some pics of my build an the fenders i tried to build.
this one is were i moved the smoke stacks to the back of the cab with the sleeper removed as you can see.
Image
i cut the hood and the head light.
Image
made a tie down for the hood which i changed a little later on.
Image
in this pic you can see the hinges i used to mount the hood to and the springs to hold it in the right spot. also changed a little.
Image
this is my new bumper i made with the tools i have which ant much so it was a little hard to get the binds i wanted.
Image
this is the start of the rear bumper plate.
Image
Image
Image
this is the other idea for the hood latch.
Image
the hood after patching the holes were the head lights was.
Image
patched the back of the cab.
Image
Image
the start of the fenders i tried to make.

i some what gave up on the idea and bought a pair of fenders.

thanks for looking at my pics. your input on this are welcome and any ideas you have throw them at me.

Hi James;

Man, for your first truck, you are doing a GREAT job! (My first attempt looked like something you'd see as a target on an impact range)! And, with all the things I've tried so far, I've never yet tried to remove the headlight buckets and fair in the fender - something you did right off the bat! You keep this up, and you're going to get so good at it that you'll be giving Silvio a real run for his money! -Mike

Good job on your first build!

Like that stack idea!

Now, with a screen name of Devil Dog, and being from J-town, you must be/were in USMC?
